Keg at Ratebeer Best Beer Festival. 31/01/2016. A dark black / mahogany brown coloured pour with loose tan head. Aroma is sweet dark sticky malts, vanilla, cinnamon, pralines. Flavour is composed of full on sticky brown sugars, brown malts, spicy coffee, little coffee bea, hint of wood. Palate is full sticky sweet, moderate carbonation. Solid. From memory better than the orig.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a deep dark looking body that supports a light mocha colored head. The aroma offers up molasses sweetened and vanilla sweetened spicy oak and then smooth whiskey booziness with a sliver of chocolate in the background. The taste is smooth and soft with smooth subtle sweet vanilla, molasses and then sweetened oak blended with smooth whiskey notes. In the background lurks a modest yet persistent chocolate goodness.

Draft at RateBeer Best 2016. Pours black with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds moderate coconut, chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla and scorched earth. Fairly sweet, with gooey chocolate and more earthy, burnt wood bitterness. Full bodied and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, sticky sweet, with continuing chocolate and earth. Good stuff overall, if sweet.

On tap at RateBeer Best. It pours a very dark brown color with a brown head. The aroma is very nutty with some walnut brownie, cocoa and roast. The flavor is the same. Full with rich walnut brownie and has a nice soft feel on the palate. A good one.
