Could be my last Phantom rate? 199 and out, 1 short of the 'Daddy' century.
Black with a good sized khaki head.
Nose is coco pops, mellow roast, toasted brown sugars.
Taste comprises cheap chocolate, light tangy dark fruit rinds, toasted brown sugars, lactic nip.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Okay pastry if a little overly sweet and adjuncty ... shame to dip out on one of my lower scoring Phantom rates ... let's hop for one more.

Can. Near opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Airy palate, a little dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Fairly light bodied dark malts. A bit of ice cream van chocolate syrup. Cocoa. Bare trace of fudge. Airy finish. Not bad, a bit obvious perhaps. Shame Phantom won't get a chance to refine these recipes.

440ml can. Pours almost black with a dark brown head. Aroma of chocolate, fudge, toffee, roast malt. Taste is sweet, dark chocolate, fudge, toffee, caramel, finishing surprisingly bitter with plenty coffee-like roast malt. Medium bodied.

Keg at Nags Head, Reading. Aroma is fudgey, with mocha bitterness. Dark and glossy. Thin tan head. Tangy and cheeky. Choc and fudge. Berry edge. Thick. Oily. Slightly chalky. Flat carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. Enjoyable chewy stout.
