This Imperial Stout is aged for 18 months in barrels from Isle of Schylge ( Terschelling) distillery and is named after the lighthouse of Terschelling. What makes this distillery special is that they buy cask strength whiskey in Ireland and later mix it with seawater from Terschelling and after this it is aged in bourbon barrels.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 20/07/2025.
Black topped with a khaki cap that thins to a swirl and edging.
Nose is light smoke, charr, dark malts, hint medicinal, stewed fruits, lightly singed toffee.
Taste comprises dark malts, charr, light peated notes, mellow barrel, dates, toffee, light roast.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol.
Okay sipper with a mellow peated aspect.

Can. Near clear dark brown beer, small tan head. Light palate, a little dry, decent fine carbonation. Light bodied but reasonably rich tasting dark malts, good dark chocolate, a little tangy and fruity, modest coffee. The whiskey is also pretty light and dark fruity, mild peat, the bourbon aspect is fairly obvious. Light semi dry and fairly crisp finish. Not what I was expecting but, that's my whiskey ignorance. Still, a tasty and drinkable affair, not least because the peat aspect is tightly reigned.

0.33 l can from 'Mr. Hop', best before September 2028. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, light brown head. Intensely sweetish-malty, moderately roasty, quite fruity and moderately smoky-medicinal aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, fruity whisky, peat and dark fruits. Rather sweet, malty, quite roasty-bitter, gently smoky-medicinal and slightly fruity taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, licorice, whisky, vanilla, green apple, dark fruits and some ash, followed by a long, fairly roasty-bitter, slightly boozy finish. Almost full-bodied, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. I like it, although Kees' trademark green apple flavours are noticeable - again.
