I located this 33 cl bottle with Smaakhuis, glad to have it. This tasting rates my Trappistes Rochefort glass, so I remove the lid and make the pour. The appearance is a dark copper body finished with a steady rim of fine tan bubbles. And there is a consistent stream of carbonation rising up, good to see. I smell figs, baked bread and alcohol. The glass is lifted and I have a drink. Raisins, malt, dates, some yeast, chocolate from somewhere, plenty of whisky and biscuit. A bit of sweetness on the front end and a decent bitterness at the finish. This a fine quadrupel. Tasty. I am surprised how much I enjoy whisky barrel aged beers, really don’t care much for scotch whisky on its own.

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out smoky, whiskey barrels, toasted malt, and bready notes. Flavour has faint whiskey barrels, spicy Belgian yeast, toasted malt, and some bready notes. High carb, spicy, and nicely boozy. Very nice.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with light fizzy head. Aromas of dried red berries, raisins, candi sugar, mineral water, a little copper, and bready malts. Flavors of old oak, dry caramel, dark fruit, and toasted malts. A little metallic; very dry. Very good.
