An old classic tweaked to be fuller bodied, with hugely satisfying results. Alnwick Brown Ale is brewed in the tradition of historic Tyne and Wear brown ales. A beautiful deep reddish-brown, the flavour is complex with hints of dried fruit, and a lovely hop balance. A credit to the North East!

500ml bottle from St Aiden’s Winery - Clear reddy broon body, thin off white head. Nose is toffee and caramel. Taste is a little thin, but benefits from the dark fruit that ripples through each mouthful. Not bad at all.
