15/6/2024. Bottle from Beer Without Borders. Shared at Malilla GP. Pours unclear mid-brown with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is woody, cherry, musty apple, light funk, yeast. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness, light tartness. Medium body, oily, average carbonation. Odd one. Thought it would be a lot better when I bought it.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 25B-Super). Bottle 39 cl - Batch T14 (BBF MAI 2024). AROMA: medium-high alcohol note with an acetone quality, followed by low yeast, slightly sweet malt with a caramel quality, low cereal husk and a slight impression of under attenuation. APPEARANCE: amber color and clear. large beige to light tanned head, creamy, with average retention. lace formation. TASTE: similar to the aroma with faint phenolics (clove-like), low yeast and a slightly sweet malt background with an under attenuation profile. aggressive alcohol presence with an acetone, solvent, quality. medium bitterness with a dry finish. PALATE: medium body with a slight velvety texture. high to very-high carbonation. aggressive alcoholic burning sensation. OVERALL: a beer without the saison characteristics and with an aggressive alcoholic presence.
