Dark in colour yet light in flavour and deceptively drinkable. Hints of cinder toffee and dark fruits, with a refreshing balance. The perfect dark delight.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 4 Aug 2025) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasty nose with coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, dried fruit and raisins. Malty, roasty taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, black rye bread, liquorice and dried fruit. Low roasty bitternes in the finish. Rich and tasty mild. Nice one.

Cask at GBBF 25. Dark and glossy. Thick foamy beige head. The aroma has dsrk chocolate with a nutty streak. Kinda nougat-esque. Peripheral berries. Flavourwise it amps up. Tart berries and bitter coffee and charcoal. Light-medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Quite a punchy mild. Too much in this case, I would suggest.

10/10/2024. Handpull at Nottingham Beer & Cider Festival 2024. Pours very dark brown with a small creamy off-white to beige head. Good pour. Aroma is very fruity, blackberry, blackcurrant, light roasted malt, chocolate, raisin. Moderate to medium sweetness, light bitterness, touch tart. Moderate body, light smoothness, soft carbonation. Nicely done.
