Cask at the Belle Vue, Wycombe. Brown-black. Thick cream head.. Lightly sour roasted malts, then chocolate with a mild orange overlay. The orange is maybe a little fake but otherwise pleasant enough.

Cask at the Waterman, Cambridge. Very dark brown and slightly translucent. Burnt coffee aroma with a hint of raspberry. Bittersweet breakfast stout taste with a sour, slightly peppery edge in the finish. Thin body but I’m in a forgiving mood. A ’won’t change your life but certainly worth trying’ beer for sure.
