Belgian White is an Imperial Whitbier (Belgian White Ale) made from wheat, oats and malted barley. Galaxy and Citra hops lend subtle citrus flavours that are woven with a thread of clove from a classic Whitbier yeast strain, and finished with a dusting of ground coriander seed.

Bottle from BC Liquors on Alberni and Bute
Hazy blond color, with creamy head. The aroma of wheat is a bit spicy, yeasty, but also dirty. Round mouthfeel, some wheat flavor, with moderate yeast spiciness and relatively high bitterness for this beer, yet not excessive.
Drinkable but still a bit simple, not sharp enough in the spicy character, and without any fruity touch; because of the strength, it gets closer to a Triple.

Gold, white head.Coriander, citrus nose. Watery but astringent profile, orange peel.Long bitter hop finish doesn’t meld, comes across unblended. Not a good effort

650 ml bottle from 16th St. Pours a clear golden yellow with medium head and lots of carbonation. Aromas of over-ripe bananas, bubble gum, yeast, cloves, and a funky medicinal note. Unfortunately the medicinal note carries through into the initial taste yielding to bitter lemon and phenolic flavors. Salty, tart, and dry finish. Expecting more after the fabulous Belgian Black.

650mL bottle, pours a hazy golden / blonde with a medium white head. Aroma is citrusy, with some coriander and hay. Flavour is quite strong on the coriander, with some citrus peel, wheat, and some dry hops to finish. Quite good for the style.
