Very hazy golden coloured body with highlights of bronze and amber, all with a very dense, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pure yeast, funk, bread, hay, grass and herbal hops - very funky throughout. Full-bodied; Rich deep yeastie and bready flavour with a lot of hay, grass, herbs and malts noticeable, all with a very floral hop flavour and a light sweetness from fruits and candy. Aftertaste is quite pungent with the alcohol coming through, some bready and malt depth and of course, the herbal and airy hops and the associated bitterness. Overall, a nice belgie-based imperial IPA with some good complex flavours if not a great well-rounded beer. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 27-September-2013 for US$4.98 sampled at home in Washington on 22-April-2014.

Draught. Orangish colour with a white head. Citrusy notes in aroma, sweet citrus. Not as full bodied as you might expect, but full enough. Dry finish

Tap at Crux, Bend, 23/05/13 - listed as 8% ABV. Lightly hazed pale blonde with a thin off white head. Nose is citrus, bitter orange, hops, caramel, light sugar. Taste comprises lemon zest, orange pith, light grapefruit, hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light hop bitterness in the finish. Drinkable but rather lacking for a DIPA, not enough depth to the flavours, a little washed out, simply failed to deliver.

On tap at Apex, pours a cloudy pale golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma of oranges, dried leaves and some residual sugars. Flavour brings out resinous and fruity hops, dry leaves and some residual sugars from the malt. Not the most refined IIPA, with all kinds of jagged edges. Far inferior to the Outcast IPA, but still decent.
