12 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Nose hints at a cloyingly sweet beer, with loads of candied sugar, oranges and perfume. Flavour is bizarre, with lots of candied sugar, but also lots of tart citrus fruits. Weird combination. They sort of balance each other out, but also seem to cancel each other out. Not an overly pleasant beer. Drinkable in small doses, but ultimately off the mark.

From the April 2014 3R6P gathering. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright golden color with a small foamy white head that left no lacing. The aroma was faintly tart, a bit sour and a bit of vinegar. The flavor was sour and tangy with citric acid and pear. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Bottle courtesy of mikem409 and shared at the 17th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 1/28/12. Pours a hazy straw color with a thin tan head that fades quickly. Aroma of sweet malts, yeast and an almost corny note, The taste is big tropical fruits, yeast, and bread. Definite canned fruit quality, which I can’t stand. Medium bodied. Disappointed by this one.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear dark golden pour with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Short stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of peppery yeast and caramel malt. Medium body with flavors of yeast, pepper, wheat and malt. The finish is sweet with a yeast and fruit aftertaste. As a Duvel clone it falls short, but still a decent brew.

Growler. Pours a clear gold with a white head. Yeasty clove aroma with pale malt aromas. Flavor is quite yeasty, bubble gum and clove, with pale malts, some hoppy citrus, herbal and pear flavors. Quite a nice homage to Duvel.
