A pour from a plastic bottle at Phill's. Appearance: dirty blonde with no head. Aroma: weird, sweet, not pleasant, boozy and dirty. Taste: not sweet, sludgy, somewhat a bit sour even. Overall: weird one.

Clear pale gold, no head. Floral, honey, slightly burnt red longan date character. Some mild complexity here, but also quite old (not sure if that helped or hindered).

Bottle, thanks Alex! Dull straw, doesn’t look great. Aroma has some sticky sugars, light florals, dash of gluey phenols. Dryish character, bit of clean lactic, hint of wildflower honey, but not a lot of complexity in this one. Nothing to really jump out and grab me.

Bottle, courtesy of fiulijn (thanks Alex), pours a clear yellow with a tiny white head. Aroma brings out lots of honey, spice, and floral notes. Flavour is rather thin and light for a 10% mead, with spicy notes, floral notes, and spicy honey. Not very complex at all, but somehow easily drinkable for such an ABV. Decent, but not the most invigorating mead.

Bottle from Elizabeth Station, Bellingham; synthetic cork; 10% ABV
Measured Final Gravity: 1005
Yellow straw color. The aroma is deep, full of summer flowers, fig twigs, dry weeds, with delicate fruity profile, and a light impression of alcohol. As promised, it’s a semi-dry mead, but the mouthfeel is soft; the flavor is aligned with the aroma, with accent of fig twigs, a bit woody, light vanilla, and an impression of Chardonnay; in the final it has a light tannic bitterness. Short final.
Nice mead, with interesting aroma but more plain flavor.
