Bottle @ home. Black with a medium sized beige head. Smells mint, liquorice, chocolate, coconut. Tastes sweet, roasty, liquorice, slightly coconut. It’s not a bad beer at all but these tastes don’t really work for me. Medium to full body, soft carbo.

Thank you for sharing! Sampled draft @ BAF 2017. black, tanned head. Nose is massive, massive black liquorices. Taste is black liquorice, extremely bitter for some weird liquorice. Thick bodied. That bitterness plus I do not like black liquorice.

Tap at BAF 2017. Dark brown with beige head. Aniseed, sweet sweet licorice, trekdrop, sweet malts. Medium sweet and lots of bitter licorice. Medium bodied. Nah.

Draft at Borefts After Festival, Kaapse '17. Near black with a tan head. Aroma of massive licorice overwhelming everything. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

From tap. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is anis seed. Roasted. Dark malty. Spiced and herbal. Bitter. Dry and solid hoppy. Dry roasted finish.

Bottle @ hotelroom shared with SinH4. Dark brown color with a nice red hue coming through when held into the light, medium sized beige head that lasts for a short while. Aroma is malts, liquorice, loads of spices in there as well like rosemary, thyme, anise. Taste malts, again liquorice and again the spices are very present. Hmm I think this has too much of the liquorice, not enough of the imperial stout, at least for me to really like it.

Bottle. Black color witg beige head. Aroma is aromatic liquorice, herbal, ethereal, spices, rosemary, thyme. Taste is spicy, herbal, ethereal, anis. Medicinal bitter finish. Medium carbonation. Not for me.
