Draught, Alibi Room. Dark amber, hazy with a thin head. Very sweet nose, going in a lactic direction. Super boozy though. Touch of cherry like cough drops. A bit hot. So not coming together as much as I’d like.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Muddy amber color with creamy head. The smoke note is very subdued, the malt is a soup, with some vegetables, earthy, dusty, and overall there is way too much yeast to be fully appreciated.
I’d love to have a proper smoked barley wine, but this is a mess.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy orange with a medium beige head. Aroma is complex, with notes of wood, light caramel, and wheat. Flavour is rather strong, with muted caramel, wheat, and a little smoky wood. ABV is very noticeable, but it's not detracting. Moderately complex. Interesting slow sipper.
