This Imperial IPA is made to bring great joy but has a sinister agenda. One taste of this well balanced IIPA and you will be lulled into a vulnerable state by this deceptively potent brew. Son of Malice is built on a huge malt bill of NW Pale, Crystal 15 and Carastan, producing a heavy malt body. To help balance things, Warrior and Willamette Hops are used often and in bulk with five hop introductions creating a hop profile that will bring a smile to the hop heads of Vancouver. Enjoy "Son of Malice," the beer with truly bad intentions.

Tap @ Både &, Kristiansand. Clear golden body with a nice off-white head, looks great. Strong aroma of American fruity hops like peach, apricot and a solid malt and caramel base. Flavor is sweet and malty with caramel and lots of fruity bitterness like aroma. Body is fine and balanced, the strong sweetness is balancing against the bitterness and alcohol. Aftertaste has a lot of fruity bitterness with a slightly warming finish. A solid, well made tasty double IPA that feels just great during these times of one dimensional fruity silliness.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper with a rusty hue and a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a strong resinous pine note with a good amount of sweet grains and a hint of caramel. Flavor has lots of resinous pine with growing sweet grains and some caramel in the finish.

Bottle from Hop and Hound, Bothell, WA
Bright amber color, just hazy. A good load of resiny and fruity hops over a solid malt and caramel backbone, with light residual sweetness. Well constructed.

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy dark orange with a medium beige head. Aroma is sort of barleywine-ish, with loads of caramel malt, resinous hops, and syrup. Flavour is quite jumbled, with caramel malt, syrup and resin. Like a hoppy barleywine. It's okay.

On tap at Baileys. Pours a somewhat cloudy orange color with a large white head. The aroma is green fruity hops. The flavor has light oranges, earthy, big bitterness, very sharp and green hops. Not very balanced and somewhat lacking in big flavors. Not a bad brew overall.
