A hybrid between two styles, this strong bottom-fermented beer is brewed with high quantities of American aroma hops, delivering gentle citrus and big grapefruit flavours you could be mistaken it's a lager.

Cask. Friends of Ham, Leeds. Clear gold. Thick, dense, white head. Chewy malts. Some ripe strawberry. Not a lot of much else. Taste is bitter. Light dry. Finishes earthy bitter. Bit of sweet on the lips.

Cask at the Earl of Essex, 04/11/14. Clear golden with minimalist off white spotting and edgeing. Nose is apricot, bitter orange, straw, light fart, melon. Taste comprises orange, mandarin, perfumed notes, straw, light hop presence. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. So so affair, pretty 1D, too many far superior IPA’s out there today to bother with this one again.

Another old tasting note from Stockbridge Tap visit. Appearance - light amber, with a lovely frothy head. Nose - fruit salad, some creamy yeasty notes too. Taste - more of the citrus and tropical fruit going on, which dominates the malt notes. Palate - medium bodied, creamy in texture with a clean but not overly sharp finish. Overall - a tasty beer.

Taste: Mild malty, soft grape hoppy and fruity.

Keg at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours. Lear, yellow-gold with a fine, tight white cream head. Lightly tangy tangerine in the nose, some pithy lemon and grapefruit, straw. Medium sweetflavor with decent bitterness, some lemon and other citrus rinds, a bit of dry white bread, faint grass, hints of minerals. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Fair balance to finish, more rindy bitterness, sand, lemon and tangerine. It’s decent stuff overall but could improve with some tweaking.
