Coast Trail Pale Ale is our West Coast lifestyle in a bottle. Bright copper colour, tons of crisp citrusy hop character, followed by a slightly sweet bready malt flavour.

On tap at VCBW Festival, pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma of biscuity malt and light citrus hops. Flavour brings out citrus hops and biscuity malt. Decent balance, with ample astringency. Nothing interesting, but decently brewed. Okay.

Bronze, managed diacetyl, toasty, well-balanced and there’s a fair bit of hop bitterness. A polarizing beer - the diacetyl is a bit challenging but the objective seems to be to create that blend of diacetyl and caramel, moderated by a fairly rich bitterness. If that’s what they are going for, they nailed it. If they were going for a SNPA clone, a west coast pale, it missed the mark by quite a bit.

Bottle from Crosstown Liquor, Vancouver
Amber color, bright, small creamy head. Caramel and hop aroma, some vegetables, some puke. Caramel flavor, little residual sweetness, some cereals; strong bitterness, with some hop resins.
Ok beer, a bit dull.
