Brewed with a unique, crystal malted rye, for colour and body, hopped up like a big west coast IPA, and fermented with a wonderfully fruity/earthy pure Brett B Trois yeast A beer that defies categories, it’s big and complex yet easy to drink. If this beer was a women she’d be a full figured gal for sure!

On tap at BRB, pours a hazy amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bitter dry resinous hops and bready malts on the back end. Flavour is strange, with bizarre herbal hops, some light vegetal notes and just enough crisp crackery malt. Herbal and astringent on the finish. Needs work.

On tap at Big River, pours a hazy reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of red berries, yeasty notes, and caramel malt. Flavour is strange, with astringent hops, brett funk, and a thick chewy malt backbone to balance. Harsh, yeasty, and not very cohesive. Decent attempt, but needs lots of work.

On tap. Pours a dark reddish amber with light head. Aromas of leather, alcohol and toasted malts. Acidic burnt fruit flavors with bitter grass and resin. Raw. Not for me.

Cheeky name...asking for trouble? Hazy amber. Rye up front on the nose, then floral hops like a rose garden. On the palate, the rye contributes a noticeable richness, and there is light bitterness. There’s a little brett, but just a little.

Draught at the brewpub
Cloudy red amber color. Hoppy and quite fruity; but the flavor is too yeasty; a bit lemony and astringent because of the Brett.
As often happens with Brett IPAs, it’s too rough.
