On cask @ the Haymarket. Appearance - golden with a slight haze and a nice head. Nose - elusive but pale malt and the faintest lemon note. Taste - toffee and oranges against a muesli backdrop. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - didn’t notice the big hop but it’s decent.

Three Johns. Keg. Almost clear gold beer, fluffy pale cream colour head. Malts are somewhat grainy but do have a little cream sweetness. Insipid citric hops. Light finish. Dominant taste here is grain. Big Hop my arse. Big Flop more like.

Cask at the Mitre, Nicholson’s - Edinburgh. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. The nose holds some hay, citric hops, dry grains. Light sweet flavour with grainy pale malts, lemon rind, hay. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Further citric hops to finish, slight astringency, mellow citrus notes, a bit of bitter grass and rind. So so.

Cask at the Haymarket. Pours clear pale gold, thin white head. Not much on the aroma, light malt and lemon maybe. Taste is similar. Not much hop action, despite the bold claim.

Cask at the Earl of Essex, 10/09/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering that dissipates to a swirl and edgeing. Nose is light must, woody notes, bitter orange, straw. Taste comprises citric peel, spice, earthy feel, orange, dirt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light earthy hop bitterness. So so, not enough hops for a SIPA, a sub par slightly musty GB.

Keg at the rake during the Firebrand tap takeover. Golden coloured pour with a thin scummy white head. Aroma is light fruity hop, mineral and a touch of lemon citrus. Flavour is crisp, light lemon citrus, tea leaves and light English yeast esters. Palate is light and refreshing, highish carbonation. Decent, pretty sessionable.
