11 different types of malt. 11 different hop varietals.

When you get to Batch 10,000, where can you go? You go one louder… and again (2019).

Our first batch of this beer debuted in 2012. The label may look a little louder, but the recipe still embraces the same bold citrus and pine hop notes finding balance with a robust, sweet and toasted malt backbone.

Double dry-hopped. Louder.

A wide range of specialty malts anchor the hops in this Imperial Red Ale, contrasting the assertive bitterness & juicy aromatics with a robust, toasty depth of flavor.

Fermented with Bell’s signature house ale yeast, This One Goes to 11 Ale finishes with a lingering warmth.

Bottle @ home via trade with DrSilverworm. Thanks! Pours a bit hazy, dark red orange appearance with a cream colored head. Rich toasty caramel malty, a bit herbal/woody, mild citrus fruity, a bit boozy, dull herbal hoppy aroma. Somewhat spicy, herbal/green hoppy, a bit chewy, slight ethanol, toasty caramel malty, chewy yeasty flavor with a bit more booze on the finish. I imagine this would have been a little better fresh since the hops have faded here and while this is a bit too strong and boozy for my taste, it’s not bad.

Bottle. Hazy medium orange-brown body, medium off-white head. Resinous hops nose, lots of sugared grapefruit, orange, and orange peel. Sharp, bitter start to the sip with alcohol heat, fading to sweet, toasty body with brown sugar and intense oily, citrusy hops, finishing with piny bitterness and alcohol heat in the nostrils. Sweet but not syrupy. Leafy and chewy too with fall leaves and tobacco. Complex and strong but muddled.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep caramel gold with a grayish tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of resin with a backing sweet grain note. Flavor starts with syrupy resinous pine with a growing sweet grain and caramel note.

Even mix of caramel and pine needle on the nose, moderate strength. Hazy copper, thick yellow head, fine floaties. Woody overripe orange and cherries flavor. Some caramel hints. Alcohol fairly well concealed.

Had this at the RB Pittsburgh December 2012 Post Apocalyptic Beer Tasting, Probabaly should be in the barley wine cat. Smell is not as hoppy as you would think but there is some hoppy perfume in the backgroud and its a little putrid. Wew, first taste Wew, strong and over the top. Way too strong. Cannot tolerate much of this rude nasty nellie kick you in the teeth beer. Burns going down. Lager lovers; avoid this brew. Absolutely no cos in this brew. Mouth coating and not easy to like. On style.

12 oz bottle at Ashley’s Ann Arbor. Amber pour with an off-white head. Sweet hoppy floral, pine, lemon, and orange in the aroma. Sticky sweet grapefruit, orange, pine, and floral flavors as well. Quite intense, fresh, and sweet. Really nice stuff.

12 oz bottle from lionsandbeer. Nose is piney resin, grapefruit, and a bit of pineapple. Clear copper orange with a medium pale beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter with lots of pineapple and papaya fruitiness, and even a moderate sweet note. Finishes with a very tiny hint of bitterness.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a lightly cloudy dark amber with a light red hue. Aroma of citrus and pine hops with a good bit of caramel and toffee. Taste is heavily bitter and medium sweet. Loads of pine and grapefruit wiht a heavy dose of caramel. Full bodied with a thick and sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long long finish. Overall, awesome! Ill srink this any and every day.

Bottle. Pours reddish amber with an off white head. Some lacing. Nose and taste is almost entirely resin, liquified pine and tree sap. Some caramel malt. Too perfumy and piny for me. A big beer that’s a little too big. Maybe this one should only go to 8. Medium body.
