A single malt golden ale made from Maris Otter barley and combined with US and Australian bittering hops to produce a refreshing ale with a zesty citrus flavour.

Cask at Bakers Vaults, Stockport. Pours golden yellow with a small scummy off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly malts with hints of hops (good) and cabbage (bad !). In the mouth there is a brief sweetness before it is flooded out by bitterness. Has quite a juicy texture. Flavour has floral hops, citrus and tangerine with traces of winegums and honey coming later. Finish is somewhat dry. This lies somewhere between reasonable and decent.

Cask at The Plume of Feathers, Greenwich. Gold look. It's exactly how a golden ale should be - slightly sweet and a grassy bitter ending. Still, not very exciting.

Cask at Lock & Barrel, Bromley. Aroma had citrus and stone fruit. Bless gold. Frothy foamy white head. Medium bitter. Citrus edge. Soft peachy finish. Herbal edge. Underlying malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. Enjoyable gold... well the pump clip actually says Pale Ale....

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Lightly hazy gold beer, thin white head. Whiff of sulphur. Palate is light and dry, modest fine carbonation. Mild sulphur carries over from the nose. Dry pale malts. Some citric peel and orange on the finish. Too much sulphur to pass muster.
