Additions of Belgian dark syrup and brown sugar boost the sweetness, while a carefully selected blend of chocolate rye, Crystal® and Carafa Special 3® malts enhance the caramel and chocolate notes, rounded out with a hint of bitterness from East Kent Goldings hops.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 14/03/2025.
Pitch black topped with a khaki cap that thins to a swirl and edgeing.
Nose is sweet malts, caramel, brown sugar melt, honeycomb, chocolate.
Taste comprises chocolate, caramel, molasses, brown sugars, sweet edged, light spice.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light kiss of booze.
Fun pastry ... a touch overly sweet to be a great but sips easy for the ABV.

Near opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Viscous dark malts, a decent dark chocolate vibe. Tons of caramel biscuit wafer, loads! Alcohol spice and warmth coming through on the back end along with a hint of esters and ripe fruits. Semi dry finish. Nice enough but I think VC have done much better in this series.

330ml can. Pours almost black with a brown head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, vanilla. Taste is very rich, very sweet, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, sugar, warming alcohol. Full bodied, thick, smooth. Incredibly tasty stout but as I imagined it's a bit too sweet to properly enjoy, good job it's only a 330ml can I suppose.

Happy birthday to me.
330ml can from Vault City’s online store. Pours almost black and looks like coke, head dissipates almost instantly.
Very sweet, almost too sweet. Taste is caramel, chocolate, roasted malt and a bit of liquorice. The sweetness overpowers the ABV.

330ml can. Poured almost black in colour with a short-lived, fizzy tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, caramel, vanilla. The flavour is strong sweet, with a rich, silky smooth, chocolate, caramel, sugary sweet vanilla, boozy alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with lively initial carbonation. Nice, but super sweet. One for small quantities only.

Black beer, thin tan head which fizzes away. A big smell of biscuits with some caramel too. Flavour does exactly as advertised: milk chocolate, caramel, wafer biscuit. All with a rich body, boozy warmth and a nice lingering sweetness. Lovely.
