From tap at The Widmer Brothers Pub, Portland. Aroma is wheaty and citrussy with a soft tropical fruity touch. Flavour is mildly sweetish and nicely bitter for the style. Nice citrus peel ’Hopfenweizen’ meets Wheat Ale.

Little bit hazy, which is unusual. Thin head. Nice gooseberry nose but it’s thin, and that doesn’t help. Hmmm seems like a different yeast and that seems to really matter.

On tap at Widmer, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with soapy and floral hops, with biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of floral, soapy notes, and biscuity malt. Too dominated by the detergent notes. No good.
