The second installment in Persephone and Townsite’s Coastal Collaboration series evokes the dense, dark, evergreen forests of the Sunshine Coast. This strong Belgian dark ale was matured on cedar spirals and juniper berries, adding a resinous, herbal depth to an ale rich in dried plum, licorice, and brown sugar notes. We recommend pairing this fortifying brew with a chilly night around a blazing campfire at a Sunshine Coast take of your choice.

Tasting at Oakes' Manor
Dark brown color. Hints of Belgian yeast in the aroma. The flavor base is dark caramel, a bit toasted, hint of dark chocolate, also somehow earthy and dirty.
Too much roastiness for being truly Belgian, this is a crossover with a burnt Stout.

650mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of cedar, candied brown sugar, and toasted bready malt. Flavour is loaded with cedar, followed by light candied sugar and toasted bready malt. Total cedar bomb. Nice stuff.

Golden-brown. There's some dark fruits, light alcohol, and some random sweetness. Sweet, some brown sugar, but also some dried fruits, lots of cedar. The alcohol still shows through in the finish and the cedar really does. It's a fairly simple character for this style, but relatively functional example - the cedar starts to come out huge as this warms.

650 ml bottle. Pours a deep brown with moderate creamy head. Aromas of cedar, metallic/earthy yeast, and dark fruit. Flavors follow same. Bitter finish, lacking fruit and sweetness. Like a lot of North American Belgians a metallic/mineral element comes to the forefront.
