New World Pale. Named after the old Kippen Grapevine, rumoured to be the largest in Europe at one time. Big tropical and citrus fruit flavours and aromas develop into a lasting bitterness that brings you back for more.

330ml can bought at Independent Spirit, Bath. Rocky white head with fine retention leaving spotty lacing on the glass. Hazy orange coloured body. Earth hoppy aroma, hints of mango fruit. Malt-fruity flavours of ripe orange, mango, grapefruit and mid-sweet caramel malts. Citrus peels to the finish with rounded bitterness. Nice. (Shared with Finn, Tromsø 26.07.2017).

On tap @Mad for Beer (Rome). Dorata appena torbida, schiuma bianca media. Al naso è saponosa, floreale, acqua sporca. In bocca va appena meglio, ha amaro contenuto, non pulitissima, priva di spunto. Corpo leggero, carbonazione media. No.

Can, watching City in the Champions League QF, 18/04/17. Hazel orange amber with a decent egg shell white head. Nose is bitter orange, roasted malts, caramel, toasted grains, melon. Taste follows, orange pith, light minerality, melon, toasted malt, citric tinged straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, slightly astringent hop bitterness in a drying close. Passable APA but not one I’d return in the current UK market.
