Tasting at Erik’s; crowler
Cloudy pale blond colour with no head. Smells weird, light rotten apple. Light body, mildly acidic, lightly lemony, bready, short finish.
Not offensive, but nothing here to be noted.

Crowler, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with apple core, pears, some watermelon, and lacto. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of apple and pear core, lots of lacto and citric notes. Lots of apple core, with a citric finish.

32oz crowler (thx, Simon N.!) at Erik's. Pours a hazy blonde with no head. Aroma is fruity and a bit malty. Taste is very malty and with low acidity. Not very pleasant. Drain pour.

Dull colour, no head, doesn't look like it has much carbonation either. The aroma is pedio and apple juice. On the palate, not good. Apple juice, some more pedio. This is quite strange - I mean there's a bit of lactic acid, but so many off-flavours. Classic example of an inexperienced brewer trying to get cute, doing something stupid like using the wrong yeast, and then when the beer is clearly faulty, sells it anyway. I mean, making a clean and delicious straight Berliner weisse is exceptionally difficult, and almost nobody can do it, so I'd like to think that a brewer would master that before trying to get cute.
