The Rev. James ales are based on an original recipe from 1885, and named in honour of brewing legend the Rev. James Buckley, saver of souls and satisfier of thirsts. Brewed with our exclusive Buckleys yeast, they each deliver a signature taste with a surprising twist.

The Rev. James Gold is crisp and sweet with fresh fruit flavours that are balanced by an intriguing depth and a light malty aroma.

Cask handpull at GBBF 2015. Clear gold lasting white head. It’s a yeasty hoppy golden ale not very hoppy. Sweet and peachy and not very interesting.

On cask @ the Haymarket. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - citrus and pale malt. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly decent finish. Overall - solid but unexciting.
