Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours black-brown with a lasting, frothy beige cap. Light sweet flavour with rich, ashy roast, hearty black coffee, earth, baking cocoa, burnt pine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Bitter, dry and ashy to finish. Superb.

Cask at Mother Arch II, 12/04/24. Black with a good sized lasting khaki head. Nose is chocolate, roast malts, dried fruit esters, hint of liquorice, dusty hops. Taste comprises chocolate shavings, dark malts, dried red berries, cocoa powder, light ashen nip, dried fruit rinds. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with balanced earthy roast and dusty hop interplay. Solid flavoursome cask stout.
