5C craft beer is brewed in King’s Cliffe in the county of Northamptonshire, but travel a short distance in any direction and you’ll find yourself in one of the four counties of Rutland, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire or Lincolnshire. And so 5C was named.

5C has quickly become a KCB favourite, undoubtedly because the golden colour, gentle hoppy taste and clean, refreshing finish has wide appeal. At 3.8% ABV it’s a perfect “session” beer.

Cask @ Navigation Tavern Spring Beer Festival 2015, Mirfield. Copper-gold with a creamy head. Light and a touch thin, with a gentle fruitiness in its background.

Cask handpull at Coal Heavers Peterborough. a light blond ale light in malt slightly ascetic hops like the B5. ok soft mouthfeel. not as strong as the B5. I thought ok.

Cask @ GBBF 2017. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty weak citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty weak citrus hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty weak citrus hoppy finish.

24/8/2018. Cask at the 41st Peterborough Beer Festival. Pours dark gold with a small off-white head. Aroma of hops, fruit, flowers and caramel. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily and watery texture, soft to flat carbonation.

Tried at the Peterborough Beer Festival 2018. Hazy deep golden colour with a white head. Aroma lmlught earthy and citrus. Taste slight bitter. Medium body.

Cask at GBBF’17, day three, 10/08/17. Golden copper with a decent off white head. Nose is fruit loaf, spice, straw, mellow citric notes. Taste comprises grains, straw, lemon peel, malty bite, bread dough. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Average golden affair.

Cask (gravity) @ Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival (2014), Nottingham Castle, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EL. [ As Kings Cliffe 5C ].Clear medium orange - amber yellow color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, plastic, fruity, apple. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, fruity, apple, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141010]
