A creamy, pale oat ale hopped with a huge charge of Equinox and Simcoe hops for a piney, eucalyptusy, cedary, sprucey, foresty blast. First brewed in 1995... brewed today in a time of change.

Tap at Bud. Clear orange with lace. rich peach and orange nose, bread, white grapes. This really tastes like sweet white grapes, mainly muscat, too much really. A but funky too.

Three Johns. Keg. Almost clear beer, rich gold with a tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is mostly smooth but peppered with good fine carbonation. Mild minerals. Smooth creamy malts, medium sweetness. Hops are mild mango, pine, peach jam and with a trace of aniseed bitterness and some hop spice. Light tropical fruits before a smooth finish. Mild peel bitter linger. Typical Lagunitas deftness. Very nice.

Keg at the north riding brew pub. Pours clear golden amber with a thin white head. Aromas of resinous US hops, lime peel, skunky in a good way. Taste is cherry, bitter, resinous. Oily texture. Bitter, sticky finish.

Is there oatmeal? Canβt say from the nose, as is the expected big nose of fresh, citrusy hops. Hard to tell the color very easily, as the Beer Circus cup changes color when something cold is in it. Mostly citrus hops, and the telltale catbox of Simcoe. Settles down with the velvety smoothness of an oatmeal beer, which means this would be awesome on nitro.

Bottle: Poured a clear caramel color with a creamy off white head. Aroma is hops forward with a sweet fruity hint. Taste is tropical fruit hops with a nice malt and light metallic backbone. Finished sweet to the palate.

Bomber from Beer Run, 5/3/15. Clear golden, copper tinge, thin fizzy off-white head, fair retention. Aroma of tropical, citrus hops, oats, honey, toasted malt. The taste is tropical, citrus hops, pith, honey, oats, pale malt. Medium bodied, well balanced, moderate lingering bitterness and carbonation. Very nice.

On tap at Winco. Pours out with clear dark golden body and huge fluffy head, which leaves lots of streaky lacing. Aroma leans the malty side, taste also, with a late hops presence at the finish. No clue that this is an 8% beer.

Purchased at Whole Foods, enjoyed at home on a humid late spring weeknight after making dinner. Appearance is a lightly cloudy gold with a huge, billowy white head. Aroma of light malt and yeast. Taste is alright, oats make it filling, decent flavor. Good deal at under $5 for this bomber.
