22oz bottle pours a lightly hazy deep gold with some cloudy, white head. Nose has standard IPA notes, piney, spruce, some orange, a little caramel, some pine sap, mild bubblegum. Flavor has a lot more sweetness than the nose lets on, lots of caramel, aloe juice, orange, brown sugar, a little maple, orange, pine, spruce, soap, herbs. Full bodied, bitter and a bit starchy. I thought it worked, but it’s quite old school.

Aroma: It has a nicely tropical aroma, mango, peach, and some resin/pine, with a little grain.
Appearance: This one is clear orange in color with a long lasting (it literally refuses to dissipate), clean, and sheeting froth of beige head that leaves some fairly strong lacing on the glass.
Flavor: Tastes pretty similar, plus the oat, which comes through quite a bit more in flavor than aroma. The oat is slightly odd here, but not bad, just a little incongruent with the rest of the flavors. It also has a nice light sweetness up front leading to a strong, medium-plus hop bitter close.
Palate: Medium bodied, fairly smooth as well, with a soft carbonation, and a medium-dry finish
Overall Impression: This beer leaves sort of a mixed overall impression, it has a great aroma, a wonderful appearance, a very nice feel, and a pretty nice, though somewhat confused flavor. Still, as you might expect from these guys, ever if there are small flaws here and there, it is still extremely drinkable, flavorful, and well, damn good.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing stringing down the sides of the glass. Soft carbonation rises at a moderate pace.
The smell had a balanced sweet to bitter blend of sweet citrus over top of light caramel malts enlightening a sweet pine.
The taste was mainly the sweet again through a combination of sweet citrus and the caramel malts. Barely any bitterness, it leaves a sweet sticky caramel aftertaste and a quick sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was pretty smooth but I’m guessing the \"oat\" part makes up for the mouthfeel as it helps the beer to sit medium bodied.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good sessionable American Strong Ale that I would have again. The \"oat\" part helps to stay in the background to keep the mouthfeel in check and not give off any off-grainy-ness in the taste or palate.

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear copper color with light head. Aromas of resiny/piney hops, caramel malts and rubber. Flavors of toffee, resin,pine and candied fruit. Acidic bitter finish. Nice.

22oz bomber split by Ann. Filtered honey-orange aroma. Foamy, thick, respectable head. A really nice modern IIPA, I guess the oats make it an ASA? Either way, I really enjoyed this beer. Spruce tinged tropical Simcoe. Solid offering.

22 ounce bottle. Slightly hazy Amber orange color. Big foamy beige head. Perfumy pine hop aroma with notes of toasted malt and sweet grapefruit. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor is balanced by the tropical fruit nuances of the citrus and pine hops that explode on the palate. The oats seem to smooth out and balance the flavor. Lots of flavors here; caramel, toasted nuts, melon, citrus, sea water and lemon peel. Finishes dry and bitter. The 8% ABV is well hidden.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/9/2015. Pours fairly crystal clear bright orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon/orange zest, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent double pale ale style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
