Patricks 040924. THX to Yngwie . Black color with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, alcohol. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, pine, oat, chocolate, spices. Nice beer.

Can, at Patricks. It's a black one, with a dense, lasting, finger thick tan head. Nice lacing. The aroma has roasted malts, oats, cocoa, coffee, alcohol, some brown sugar and a herbal, spiced touch. A charred wood touch too. It's full bodied and not too sweet on the palate, softly carbonated and with a little bitterness. Am not able to determine whether the bitterness is from the hops, the malts or a combination of these. The flavor has roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee and charred wood, with some dark bread and alcohol. Bitterness, herbal notes and some brown sugar. Lasting finish with lots of dark flavors. A really pleasant one, not too sweet, but perhaps a tad too bitter. 240904

Can shared in London - cheers! Pours black-brown with a bubbly, beige head. Medium sweet flavour, rich dark malts, big ashy bitterness, hint toast, booze. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Harsh bitter ash to finish. So so.

Nose is chocolate, dark malts, cocoa powder, earthy fruit rinds.
Taste comprises more cocoa powder, roasted bite, umami, spice, fruit cake mix, toffee, charr.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a roasted cloak.
Tidy old skool sipper.

440ml can. Pours jet black with a large head. Aroma is sweet vanilla, milk chocolate and grainy mango. Taste has hopoy mango, vanilla and grain.

Large rocky light brown head left a creamy top on a near black still body. Roasted, ashtray & burnt aroma. Medium to full bodied, creamy, soft & smooth thinning out to a cloying back. Coffee, burnt, vanilla, roasted & chocolate tastes with an extremely bitter lightly hopped finish. A bit all over the place but very tasty.
