The base La Perla Negra has been dry hopped with Hatch Chilis from New Mexico. The beer retains its porter profile of malt and roast but hidden in the finish is a heat that grows with time. ..Not so much a flavour but a sensation. This is a winter warmer done Texas Style!

Bottle from 3at3, Ely. Dark brown, almost opaque. Sizeable tan-grey head. Coffee, chocolate and chilli are present in the aroma alongside cherry, floral and milky tea notes. Interesting. The taste is sweet with a slight chalky bitterness in the finish. The chilli is not present in the initial sip, but there is a massive hot stomach burn in the aftertaste. Worth trying if you can get your hands on it.
