Wild yeast, cherries and aged in unlined oaks. Based on a traditional Belgian-style Flanders red ale, Enigma is created by blending complementary sour brown ales. The beer is then allowed to age on cherries in unlined oak tanks. This process allows Enigma to pick up notes of cherry and vanilla, giving it its distinct and somehow undefinable character.

Hint of roast, some raspberry, cherry. Sour plum. Pours dark brown with light tartness. Finishes with light tartness. Tastes a little watery. DC Beer tasting.

Bottle at the DCBeer May share. Poured a kind of dark brown color with a small white head. Aroma was a really nice tart brown ale. Plum, light tartness. Pleasant and quite easy to drink.

12 oz. bottle, thanks to Ian, and shared with Tim! Pours a dark, ruby-brown color, with a small, bubbly, beige head. The aroma is dried limes, cloves, leather, plum, caramel, and vanilla. Sweet and malty, with an easy, lovely, sour flavor. Medium body, musty, and just a little acidic. Easy, beautiful, and smooth.
