GABF 2015. Light copper color. aroma has mild citrus hops and flavor has a lot mor hops with citrus and pine, almost balanced by the malt but not quite. A little abrasive and I would expect a hop burn from this.

8th September 2015
Hazy amber beer, decent white head. Light malts, traces of caramel and cream. Some perfumey florlalness. Spicy perfume as if from some exotic grain. Mildly tangy fruits with a little orange peel. Light semi dry finish. Unusual tasting beer.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 12/3/2015. Pours lightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange zest, pear, apple, light banana/bubblegum, clove, light pine, light caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange zest, pear, apple, light banana/bubblegum, clove, light pine, light caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of pine bitterness/yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange zest, pear, apple, light banana/bubblegum, clove, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/spice/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/bready/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Belgian IPA style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Belgian Ale huh, tastes like it maybe has Saison yeast I guess. Not really enjoying the yeast tones, too overboard and not really incorporated into the final product. Really reminds me of all the yeast driven hairspray US Saisons around 2009. It’s not off or outright bad, but not good either.

Sampled from the tap at the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest. Pours a near clear golden orange with an off-white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a good amount of flora backed by grass, pine and a bit of light grains. Flavor is more grass and grain forward with pine and flora supporting.
