Dark pour with a small head. Big sweet notes, plum, red fruits, malts, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, sweet nuts. Full mouth but not as thick as the 14% would lead you to believe. Booze is well-hidden throughout. A classic for a reason. 2022 edition.

# 4500; 1/2025. Vintage 2022. Cherry, caramel, woody, raisins aroma. Clear copper body; almost no head quickly disappeared, beige colored. Dried cherry, woody, caramel, strong alcohol warmth, residual sweetness, raisins, dried apricot. Very good doppelbock, very strong; slightly too sweet and alcoholy. 0,33 l, bottle, supermarket, Tรผbingen (Swabia, Germany).

Poured from 330mL bottle (2022 vintage; bb 11.2027; purchased somewhere on my Euro trip 2023, forget where exactly - probably Riga?). Clear copper brown with minimal white head. Caramel malt, feint dark fruits, gentle spice, slight booze, hint of wood. Enjoyable.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. 2022 vintage. Pours brown, elegant, transparent, with no foam. Aroma is markedly malty, caramel, nutty, fig. Body is dense, a little sticky, with average carbonation. Taste is intensely sweet. Final is fairly long and still sweet, though not exaggerated.
