On cask at Hallamshire House, Sheffield - Last of the night, and nowt like the Yule I had at the back end of 2012! Deep and thick, near black, ruby body. Loads of booze and whisky notes on the nose, hits of malt and cake fruits there again too. As with the original there are the smoky tastes, nuts, toast, coffee, but sweetened up with a honey finish. Lovely oily body, but I doubt I’d get a second down after this session.

Cask. Hallamshire House, Sheffield. Slightly hazy, copper colour. Thick, tight, lasting, off white head. Barley sugar. Sweet, woody barrel. Toasty malts. Banana. Vanilla. Orange zest. Very festive, in fact. Taste is chewy sweet. Soft, fruity dryness. Big, chewy, boozy, smooth, but clean palate. Finishes woody dry, and light bitter. Sets off fantastic, but tails off a little. Certainly one I’d like to try again, though.
