As we head into the warmer months and the weather begins to brighten just that little bit more each day, we’re kindly reminded that festival season is fast approaching once again, and with it the influx of daft, silly festival beers to pour at them. After taking a similar concept with Red Odyssey, our triple fruited cherry imperial gose last year, we’re back once again on the super-fruited sour party train for Solid Love. Utilising a mixture of fruits we think work extremely well together in Mango and Lime, we’ve dumped just shy of a tonne’s worth of lime and mango into this beer, weighted heavily toward the mango. The result? A sweet, sticky, tart, slammer of a beer with tropical notes a-plenty but with a sharp citrus zest at the back to remind you that this is a Polly’s sour after all!

Panda at home, thanks to Kenny, 17/12/23. Almost clear golden orange with an off white cap that dissipates edgewards. Nose is mango pulp, ripe citric flesh, grass, herb, grains, lemon nip, damp hay. Taste comprises sharp mango, lime zest, herb, lactic ting, salt load, damp wood, grains, acidic rise. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a puckering bite at the curtain call. Decent punchy sour.

Can. Hazy orange beer, decent off white head. Palate is fairly light for the abv, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. The light malt base does just enough and really doesn't need to do anymore, a little creamy sweetness. Tart lime contrasts with fairly sweet mango. A light piney vibe runs alongside. The requisite salinity is pitched perfectly and brings the sweet and sour vibe together perfectly. Light juicy salty finish. Seems like ages since I have a big old Imperial Fruited Gose, so this is was just the job.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - hazy yellow to orange with a thin white head. Nose - lemon and lime but very gentle. Taste - loads of lime and salt with something tropical dropping by later. Palate - light to medium bodied, with a deep texture and salty and zesty finish. Overall - good Gose base to this beer.

Hazy golden beer, thick white head. Tangy, mango smell. Flesh is very sharp up front with tart lime and salt but with some rich, sweet mango balancing it out. Two fruits I love so this was always going to be a winner for me and I really like it. Fresh, fruity, punchy, well balanced and the tartness lingers even as you start to get more of the mango.
