A refreshing golden ale with hints of orange zest and a deep caramel finish.

Cask at the Bird in Hand, Knowl Hill. Straw with a loose white head that left lots of lacing; citrusy hoppy aroma; sweet with a touch of honey, a light body, and some crisp hops giving a dry and bitter finish; with some lingering biscuit. Very drinkable.

Cask at the Black Horse, Barnet on 18 January 2014. Poured a hazy, mid golden colour with a halo of rocky white head. Fruity aroma with yeasty esters and some grassy hops. Initial malty flavour with some oranges and straw. Finish was chewy grain, caramel and some resin. Probably could have been served better; it came on whilst I was in the pub and I don’t think it had dropped.

Cask, handpump at The Nut Tree, Murcott, Oxon, Sunday 8th September 2013 Pours mid gold, good looker (first beer from the new cask), nice white head. Pleasant golden bitter but lacking the character of those that I tried yesterday at the open day, a little more workmanlike i.e. Functional but the bitterness and hoppiness were fine, tasted good for being really fresh. Fruity with citrus showing, would be a decent session beer, just needs a little something extra to lift it a but. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
