Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours black with a decent khaki white head. The aroma is tangy, sweet - sour, bramble, blueberry jam, bilberry, roasted malt, salted liquorice, tropical vibes in the backdrop, mango and granny smith apple. The taste is dry, tart, tangy, earthy roast, some bitterness, toasty, cacao, liquorice, peppery, jammy, bramble, blueberry, granny smith apple, charred wood, umami, touch of tannin, dull alcohol, coffee grounds and fizzy cola bottles with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Interesting and well realized. Fun stuff.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - black adn a thin fawn head. Nose - soy sauce, black rice wine vinegar, roast, dark malty bread, black olive and tapenade. Taste - barrabrith, raisins, salty olives, dry herb, an edge of savoury treacle and just a hint of that black rice wine vinegar. Palate - medium bodied, rich and creamy yet dry and lightly acidic through the latter half. Overall - very interesting and very good. This may divide the room but for me, it's excellent.
