Tank at Howling Hops tank room. It pours near enough black with a decent off-white head. The nose is bitter-sweet, earthy roast, charred wood, stewed plum, red grape, date and jam. The taste is crisp, bitter, earthy roast, Dandelion & Burdock, liquorice, earth, peppercorn, soapy citrus, red grape, mild jam, burnt toast and coffee grounds with a lingering bitter-peppery finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Good condition. I particularly like the jammy aroma. Solid cda.

Keg at the Cock Tavern, London. Good stuff overall. Pours dark brown with a tight, beige cream head. The nose holds well toasted malts and light cocoa. The flavor is medium sweet with notes of dried berries, burnt pine, more dark toast, some bitter earth. Medium bodied with fine, good carbonation. Finishes with burnt earth, dry cocoa, some burnt pine, grapes, some leathery and and aged fruits. Lingering dried, dark berries. Not bad.

Keg at the Cock, hops are what Kenny says, 18/03/14. Black with a good sized tan covering that retains well, good lacing ensues. Nose is jammy berry fruits, earthy cocoa, light roast, bramble berry twang, biscuit, hop notes. Taste comprises a lick of pine, Ribena berries, chocolate pangs, subtle roast, lightly skunked hop notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness evident in the close. Solid CDA - all style boxes well ticked!

Cock Tavern. Keg. Bramling X, Citra, Galaxy, 5256 hops. Opaque dark brown beer, little pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and slightly soft. Mild fresh creamy dark malt. No real roast or bitterness. Mellow dark chocolate. Nice hops, mostly pine with a whisper of citrus and 5256 peachy tropical fruits. Hop bitterness ramps up and contrasts with the creamy dark malt well. Smooth.dry finish with a good bitter linger. Good cda.
