Brewed for Baltic Porter Day, Denmark, 2025.
When traveling in Poland, should you ever encounter a Latawica, may we at least warn you to be cautious. A Latawica is the demon of a stillborn child, or of a person whose life ended abruptly. Such a person's soul would drift to the sky like a kite and be transformed into a demon. Let’s say your travels takes you birdwatching in the Białowieża Forest on a windy day, and you spy a dark bird with arms and the face of a woman, then rest assured that this is no ordinary bird – should you be in doubt. This is a Latawica. If in a shitty mood, this demon of the wind may start a forest fire around you. But if she likes you, she may very well seduce you into an act of indecency with her smooth talk and alluring behavior. And then the trap snaps shut! Bound by her spell you cannot resist leaving everything behind - spouse, children, earthly possessions - and follow the Latawica for the rest of your miserable life, now drained of all bodily energies – a shell of a man. However, should you happen to carry a head of garlic then by all means bring it out, as the Latawica hates the smell and will simply fly away. Just know that the Latawicas are out there, and you have been warned. And don’t feel too coy and confident if you’re a woman: a Latawiec has exactly the same horrible habits but comes in the shape of a male.

44 cl can picked up at the brewery's webshop poured into a snifter glass. Pitch black with a thin, lightly tanned head. Bitter roasted aroma with coffee, chocolate, hard toasted bread, herbal hoppy notes. Some pepper. The taste is bitter roasted. Full body, oily texture. Dry, roasted bitter finish with lingering dark malts. Bone dry, excellent.
