So so overall. Rich pale malts, ripe and leathery fruits, ample leafy bitterness, boozy warmth, some English yeast, husky pale grains. Medium bodied - seems a little thin for the style. Warm to hot finish, fair bit of bitterness, further boozy bite, old golden raisins. Drinkable.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenny, 18/01/24. Modest haze on a deep amber to chestnut brown pour with a light beige cap that soon thins to a swirl. Nose is stewed fruits, vinous, herb, toffee, fruit cake mix, dates. Taste comprises caramel, Moscatel notes, burnt sugars, dates, figs, light booze tunes. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close Tasty well balanced barley wine with an old skool vibe about it and a good kiss of Moscatel.

Can. A light haze on this orange amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head, fairly short lived. Airy palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Malts are not that mature or complex, but bring a light creamy sweetness with an equally light caramel. The Moscatel barrel delivers a small amount of dry wood and a better amount of oaky vanilla. The sweet wine comes through loud and clear on the last quartile, ripe sweet grape and ripe sweet fruits. Tiny amount of spice on the airy and semi dry finish. A pretty good barleywine, albeit a barrel served.

Can from The Green Goddess, Blackheath. Orangey brown pour with a beige head. Nose is toffee apple, oak, barley sugar, white grape. Taste is spookily similar to the above. Quite the cockle warmer. Boozy sweet spicy flavours leading to a lightly bitter finish.
