An Apple Brandy barrel-aged Dessert Imperial Stout.
Using our luxurious Imperial Stout, My Continuous Improvement, as our base, we aged it in Apple Brandy barrels before adding whole sticks of cinnamon, vanilla and grated nutmeg. This is a beer that has imparted the beautiful flavour of the Brandy alongside deep treacle, liquorice and vanilla.

Bottle. CW online probably. Fairly thick shiny pour. Sits similarly glossy with the slimmest of tan swedes. Has the promised spices. Very festive. Nice tang from the apple brandy barrel reigns in nicely. Taste is bittersweet. Slick on the palate and fairly rich, although a slightly surprising level of carbonation tempers all that. Sweetness tails off with some barrel led bitterness. Good gear drinks easy.

Bottle at home, from CW online - on Zooms with other xhitheads, wee hours of 31/12/22. Pitch black with a good sized lasting dirty tan head. Nose is chocolate, vanilla custard, dark malts, toffee apple, spice, cinnamon, sugar melt. Taste comprises bitter roast, syrup, gipsy tart, chocolate, brandy spike, sweet edged, booze. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol. Decent enough impy but rides a touch sweet for my liking ... could do with some bitterness to balance.
