Special Smoke is our version of a Bamberg-style rauchweizen brewed with a blend of Bamberg pilsner, wheat, caramunich and Beechwood smoked malts. We hopped Special Smoke exclusively with Spalt Spalter in the kettle then open-fermented it cool with our favorite hefeweizen strain.

Can from Tavour. Pours translucent dark gold with a large white head. Aroma is pleasingly smoky. Med body or so. It's dry and smokey. Excellent for the style. Very good flavor.

Cloudy, ruddy colour. Thick head. Banana, floral, light smoke. A bit yeasty. This is decent rauchweizen. The irony of the name is that Spezial doesn't make a rauchweizen.

Smoky, malty. Taste is a bit fruity with moderate smoke notes. Good one.

16oz can from Tavour. Cloudy amber/golden pour, off-white foamy head recedes to paper thin layer. Smoked malt aroma, whole grain bread, light notes of clove and banana. Taste brings more of the smokey malts, woody all being held up by the weizen body and yeast. Rauch weizen. Love it!
