Bottle at the 'Mere, Happy New Years (Tipples had) Tastang, thanks to Kenny 21/01/22. Hazed orange amber with a decent off white cap that dissipates edgewards. Nose is tarte fruit rinds, spice, caramel, tangy fruits. Taste comprises spice, caramel, tangy fruit rinds, fruit cake, hot elements, fruit cake. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a spike of alcohol. Decent.

25th January 2022 Panda. Big thanks to Mr Tipple and Theydon Bois for getting the beer I brought to a tasting and failed to drink all the way back to me a few days later. A somewhat murky dark reddish beer with a dirty pink bubbles. Palate is fairly light and fairly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Thinnish malts, trace of caramel. Plenty of Port barrel action here. Warming red berries with a touch of darker berries. Touch of tart berries. Surprisingly heavy and bitterish wood. A return to brighter berries on the finish. The barleywine serves the barrel here but all good. One of the better Torrside beers I have had in some time. Tasty and drinkable.
