Keg at Black Isle Bar, Inverness, 09/10/21. Light black with a tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is mellow bourbon, dark malts, chocolate, dried fruit rinds, spice. Taste comprises cocoa powder, toffee crisp, dark malts, brown bread, kiss of Heaven Hill. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow barrel edge. Solid stuff.

Keg at Casc Aberdeen. It pours darkest brown approaching black with a thick, creamy tan coloured head. The aroma is sweet and meaty, rich roasted malt, dull smoke, toasty, savoury, umami vibes, charry wood and burnt toast. The taste is firmly dry, rich roasted malt, bitter - sweet, burnt toast, creamy vanilla, spicy whiskey vibes, toasted marshamallow, charred wood, umami character and some chocolate cake with a charred and roasted finish. Medium to fulsome body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Fun and interesting stuff, but could i drink a lot of it? Probably not.
