En rund och kraftig IPA-stil som väckte rabalder då en först skapades i USA häromåret – läs ”svart ljus ale”. Poängen med vår Black IPA, liksom ölstilen, är att ta fram maltblendens mjuka knäck-, frukt- och chokladsmak till lätt rostade toner, där i stället den rikliga humlen tar hand om beskan och dessutom tillför en mängd blommiga och citrusiga aromer.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Dark brown, rich firm head. Grapefruit and coffee up front. Mid sweet with above medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Some caramel and coffee, plenty of salty grapefruit. Really bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a longlasting tan head. Has a roasted malty piney hoppy caramel aroma. Roasted malty piney hoppy bitter caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty hoppy bitter caramel finish.

Flaska från SB, del av mixpack. En fin BIPA med en lite annorlunda smakprofil. Drar åt svarta vinbär, anis och hostmedicin medan tall, citrus och mjuk brödig chokladsmak som man mer väntar sig ligger strax intill. Trevlig.

Appearance: Almost black color with a nice beige head gives a fine lacing.
Aroma: Coffee, chocolate, fruity and grapefruit hoppy.
Palate: Medium to full body. Tad sweet with a nice bitterness. Soft carbonation. A bit oily texture.
Taste: Grapefruit hoppy, dark malt, coffee, mild roasted and fruity.
Overall impression: Solid tasty stuff!

Bottle from Systembolaget. Black with a tan head. Aroma and taste of grapefruit, licorice, dark chocolate, light pineapple and something that reminded of medicine. The finish was quite dry and bitter. A descent one.
