En rund och kraftig IPA-stil som väckte rabalder då en först skapades i USA häromåret – läs ”svart ljus ale”. Poängen med vår Black IPA, liksom ölstilen, är att ta fram maltblendens mjuka knäck-, frukt- och chokladsmak till lätt rostade toner, där i stället den rikliga humlen tar hand om beskan och dessutom tillför en mängd blommiga och citrusiga aromer.

Keg at the Malmo Taproom, RBESG ’15 day 2, 21/08/15. Light black with a decent tan head that retains well. Nose is light charr, dark berry fruits, pine needle, bitter roast effect. Taste comprises light peppery spice, dank hops, raisens, treacle toffee, pine needle. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid CDA.

Bottle [from trade with Slaktmasken, thanks!] @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus, Judyvv and Joes. Opaque dark brown to black color, average to medium sized beige head that lasts for quite a while. Smell and taste malts, dark malts, hops, a hint of liquorice, bitter, a hint of roasted malts. Decent body and carbonation.

Bottle @ joes. Dark brown to black colour with a small to medium sized off-white head. Smells nieuwe haring with ui, hoppy. Tastes hops, bitter, fresh, fruity, sweet, slightly roasty and ashy. Medium body, nice carbo.

Dark brown color. Creamy brown head. Roasted malt and citrus notes. Excellent roasted malt character, with lots of citrus notes. Nicely balanced and well put together, though again doesn’t take me anywhere special.

Doft av citrus och kaffe. Smakar mörkrostat kaffe som avklingar i en citrusig smak. Plus i kanten för att kaffesmaken aldrig övergår till en bränd eftersmak, vilket tyvärr alldeles för ofta förekommer i denna stiltyp.

Sample from 33 cl. bottle. Pitch black with a bubbly, tanned head. Fruity, roasted aroma with citrus, caramel, chocolate and hints of coffee. Taste is bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes fruity and roasted. Nice B-IPA.
