Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2014, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Black Paw Archbishops Ale ].Clear light dark amber brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, sweet malt - fruit, licorice notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, licorice in late finish. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140813]

From cask. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is toffee and dark malty. Smooth roasted, dark malty and breadish. Dark toffee. Liqourice from back of the nose.

Sampled @ GBBF day 2. Hazy red-brown color, small beige head. Smell and taste malts, lightly roasty, some bitter. Aroma reminds me of a used coffee filter. Average body and carbonation. Don’t really like it.
